Reading the comparison

The eight-gameweek total is the number to weigh. A single gameweek's projection is mostly noise; the run is where a difference in fixtures shows up, and it is the figure that answers "who should I own", which is the question a comparison is usually really asking.

Rating and points are not the same scale. A rating out of 100 ranks a player against others in his position, so the best goalkeeper and the best forward both read 100 while being worth very different scores. Comparing a defender with a midfielder on rating alone will mislead you; compare them on projected points.

Price is only interesting relative to what else that money buys. A player half a million more expensive who projects a tenth of a point higher is worse value, not better — the difference has to come from somewhere else in the squad.
